Dolla Dolla bills, y'all?
But really, think of it as an investment. Towards that fan car you always wanted.

Could be worse, you could work 6pm-6am like me. I'm putting in 60 hours this week, I DESPISE shift work!

I spent a few months on contract at a mine site, 0630-1830 for 7 days, then 1830-0630 for 7 nights, then fly home for a week. I don't think I could keep that up long term...

I guess it takes a certain type of person to do shift work. I always enjoyed it - for some reason my internal clock is set up to want to stay up until 5am or so and then sleep all day. Working a normal 8-5 shift (like I am now) feels like I'm dragging myself out of bed really early every day, and going to bed early enough to be up in time for work feels like I'm going to bed way too early (hard to fall asleep).
Shift work also fits nicely with my introversion. I can do my shopping, etc. without worrying about big crowds of people everywhere, and on my days off I can just relax in the dark with a cup of coffee and a good book.
I've been thinking about switching jobs to see if I could get shift work again, but with the job market being like it is I'm hesitant...

When I was single I didn't mine, get home that veg out to video games or internet. Now with a family it just sucks. I usually work a day shift, so every once in a while a night job comes along. The first week of adjustment is the worst.

You are right it could always be worse. Thanks for reminding me of this. It is just this initial adjustment week that blows. I am lucky to have a good job and not be laid off!

actually the blower motor in the car is squeaking when on, so I'll pay for a nice blow with all this suck.
